WXRX holds open competition for next radio jock

Maverick Media’s rock station, 104.9 “The X Rocks,” wants to know if you have what it takes to be a WXRX “Jock.”

The radio station is looking for the next X Jock and is holding open auditions. Starting March 18 through April 22, for six weeks on Thursday nights, the station is going to be out and about looking or the next member of its on-air staff. For a listing of times and locations, visit www.wxrx.com.

No experience necessary. At the open auditions, candidates will get 104 seconds to show off their skills. Each week, members of the X staff will pick a qualifier to move on to the finals. Potential candidates can come out as many times as they want. Also, each week, the crowd will be able to vote. The top choices will be posted on www.wxrx.com. Listeners will vote for a bonus qualifier each week. At the finals, there will be 10 qualifiers competing to be the next X Jock.

During the finals, the qualifiers will compete in various X Jock-related events to find out who will be the next X Jock. The winner will receive a prize package and their own Saturday night air shift on The X.
