The Boylan Titans will not lack runs this season.

The Titans return seven starters from last year’s team, including Michael Morman, Zach Domin and Tyler Dray, who are all three-year starters and all-conference players. Experience may very well be the best thing the Titans have going for them.

After playing without many seniors the previous season, the Titans feature a deep, loaded lineup from top to bottom that will make even the best pitchers in the conference nervous.

“We’ve got good experience coming back,” Boylan coach Chris Rozanski said. “We hope we can hit with just about anybody. We played a lot of juniors and sophomores last year. We started three sophomores, and we expect them to mature and act as seniors. Offensively and defensively, we should be solid.”

The one thing that could keep the Titans from becoming overwhelming favorites is their pitching.

The Titans have two good starters in Dray and Ryan Roberts. But while Rozanski said they have some good arms beyond that, they are all untested at the varsity level.

“Pitching, we’ve had some up and downs there,” he said. “We have a good 1-2 punch with Dray and Roberts. After that, we’re trying to play with different combinations. There’s some question marks there.”

What the Titans hope is they can get the juniors tested before they even get into the conference schedule. Boylan has put together a very tough non-conference schedule, and Rozanski hopes to use that to figure out what his team has.

“We think we’ve put together a pretty strong non-conference schedule, and we hope that will serve as a nice indicator of things we need to work on as the season approaches,” he said. “We’re probably going to have to rely on the junior class a little more than we wanted to. Just a matter of finding the right role for each of them.”
