Democrats seek candidate to fill vacancy on November ballot for 34th District state Senate seat

A vacancy needs to be filled on the November ballot to be the Democratic candidate for state Senate in the 34th District as a result of the withdrawal of Jennifer Cacciapaglia’s candidacy.
The Winnebago County Democratic Central Committee, in accordance with Illinois law, has formed a three-person commission to name a replacement. Democrats who live in the 34th District and would like to be considered to fill the vacancy may send a cover letter outlining their involvement with the Democratic Party and why they are qualified to be a candidate along with their resume to Chairman Dan Lewandowski, 695 North Perryville Road, Suite 4, Rockford, Illinois, 61107, or call 1-815-399-1703 with inquires.
The application process opens Wednesday, March 31, and closes Wednesday, April 7, at 5 p.m. A decision by the 34th District commission will be made soon after in compliance with Illinois law, and the results with be made public at that time.
