Get Growing: Vegetable gardening class for beginners

As part of the Plant-A-Row for the Hungry initiative, University of Illinois Extension-Winnebago County is offering a beginning vegetable gardening class at 10 a.m., on Saturday, April 10, at the U of I Extension-Winnebago County office at 1925 S. Meridian Road, Rockford.
This two-hour session will teach techniques to ensure a successful vegetable garden. The program will cover planning your garden, when to plant, proper spacing, and how to maximize your yield; methods to control disease and insects will be included. Five lucky attendees will win a variety of seed packets to get their gardens started—provided by the Plant-A-Row for the Hungry Initiative.
