National Arts Advocacy Day April 13—tweet ‘#arts’ to support arts education
From online reports
Today, Tuesday, April 13, is National Arts Advocacy Day. More than 500 arts advocates will take to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., to talk to their government officials about the power of the arts and the need for arts education and arts funding.
As social media is taking more notice from decision-makers, it makes sense for arts supporters to put it to good use. Supporters of the arts are encouraged to take the time to create a tweet (or 20) featuring the hashtag “#arts” on their Twitter accounts and ask their friends to join in.
If there are enough tweets with “#arts,” supporters will push “arts” into Twitter trending topics for the day. More information can be found at: http://www.tweetartsday.org.
