Friends of Rockford Public Library host annual Spring Book Sale April 14, 16-17

From press release

The Friends of Rockford Public Library are hosting their annual Spring Book Sale from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, April 14 (members only presale) and from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday-Saturday, April 16 and 17 (general public) in the Main Library Auditorium and classrooms A and B. The sale offers thousands of items to choose from including fiction and nonfiction, paperback and hardcover books, magazines, videos and many children’s books. All proceeds benefit the Friends of Rockford Public Library, a 501(c)(3) organization that supports library programs, services and special events throughout the year.

“Our spring and fall sales are always big events for us,” said Annette Smith, president, Friends of Rockford Public Library Board. “It gives us the opportunity to raise valuable funds for the library while finding new homes for books and other media that have either been donated to us or withdrawn from the library’s circulating collection.”

In addition to the standard selection of items, the spring sale will feature “Bag it for $2” on Saturday when guests are invited to fill a bag with books for just $2, and a special collection of great books at a fraction of their online price in the Book Shop, which will be open the hours of the sale.
