History instructor, Colonial re-enactor to speak at Tea Party meeting May 13

The Thursday, May 13, meeting of the Northern IL Tea Party will feature Rock Valley College history instructor and colonial re-enactor Ray Swenson. The meeting will be at Rockton Community Center, 302 W. Main St., in Rockton.

Swenson will speak about what the Founding Fathers suffered for their insurrection against the British crown.

For donations, three 3-foot-by-5-foot Gadsden Flags (“Don’t tread on me”) will be offered at the meeting from a drawing. Copies of John Fund’s latest book, How the Obama Administration Threatens to Undermine our Elections, will be available. The public is welcome.

A three-hour election training will be held Tuesday, May 18, at either of two sessions, 1 or 5:30 p.m. Donation of $5 is requested for materials. Send e-mail to roscoe1776@gmail.com or call (815) 964-4588 for more information.
