Northern IL Tea Party meets May 13 in Rockton

The Northern IL Tea Party will meet at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, May 13, at Rockton Community Center, 302 W. Main St., in Rockton.

Guest speaker will be Rock Valley College History instructor Ray Swenson, who will talk about what the founding fathers suffered for their insurrection against the British Crown. Tea Party organizers will offer three 3 ft. x 5 ft. Gadsden flags for sale. These are yellow flags with the message “Don’t Tread on Me.” The Tea Party will also take orders for the John Fund book, How the Obama Administration Threatens to Undermine Elections, priced at $6 each. Twenty-five paperback copies are available.

A three-hour election training will be held Tuesday, May 18, 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. A donation of $5 is requested for materials.
