Magnolia Festival May 15-16 at corner of North Main and Auburn streets

The annual Magnolia Festival is set for noon to midnight, Saturday, May 15, and noon to 10 p.m., Sunday, May 16, in the parking lot area behind the businesses at the corner of North Main and Auburn streets.
Festival admission is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and younger. The first 50 kids receive a prize.
The festival features food, music, arts, games and a 50/50 raffle. Billy the Balloon Guy will entertain with his amazing balloon creations from 2 to 6 p.m. both days. Jane Magnolia trees will be available for purchase on festival grounds.
Food menu features the “taste of the North End,” with selections from Altamore Ristorante, North End Coffee Bar, Der Rathskeller and JT’s Bourbon Street Grille.
The festival will be held rain or shine.
Following is the music schedule:
Saturday, May 15
Noon-1 p.m.—Jimmy Z: A local country artist who has performed nationally and internationally. Get ready for classic country and some folk music.
1-1:15 p.m.—Opening ceremony
1:15-3:30 p.m.—Danny Boy: Good, old-fashioned Irish tunes to touch the heart and empty glass. Get ready to sing along.
3:30-4:30 p.m.—Jimmy Z
4:30-7:30 p.m.—John Burns, Phil Pilcher & Co.: The neighborhood guys entertain with classic jazz, contemporary tunes and good, ol’ R&B. Great, easy-listening music.
7:30-8:30 p.m.—Jimmy Z
8:30-11:30 p.m.—Penny Mae Dixon Band: Is a name to know if you love country music. The headliner delivers attention-getting, high-energy country music.
Sunday, May 16
Noon-1 p.m.—Kathy Mehalko, Music Express Karaoke: Great time for kids and family. Kathy is great with different activities and singing for kids and adults. Don’t miss her shows.
1-3 p.m.—Opan Jii: If it’s jazz you love, don’t miss Frank Calvagna and company performing smooth, contemporary jazz and exotic Latin jazz blends to please the ear and the soul.
3-4 p.m.—Kathy Mehalko, Music Express Karaoke
4-6 p.m.—Starlite Radio: Their music is a combination of new folk and roots rock with an emphasis on powerful lyrics and killer harmonies.
6-7 p.m.—Kathy Mehalko, Music Express Karaoke
7-10 p.m.—Moonlight Jazz Orchestra: Close the festival with Rockford’s premier 18-piece band, featuring a variety of talented vocalists and musicians performing everything from swing to rock ’n’ roll to contemporary hits. It’s the ultimate dance band.
