Katie’s Choice Book Club to discuss Julia Child biography May 17, 20

The Katie’s Choice Book Club selection for May is My Life in France, by Julia Child and Alex Prud’Homme. Hosted by Rockford Area Lutheran Ministries and Katie’s Cup coffeebar, the book discussion will be at 7 p.m., Monday, May 17, and 10 a.m., Thursday, May 20, at Katie’s Cup, 502 Seventh St., Rockford.

The Book Club is open to all interested people, free of charge. No pre-registration is required.

Julia Child’s remarkable biography tells the story of her love affair with food and cooking. She recounts her life in France, from the moment she arrived knowing nothing of the language or culture to her classes at the famed Cordon Bleu. She weaves a tale of her transformation to authority on French cuisine, author and beloved—if quirky—television personality.
