Green Party candidate to hold wine and cheese fund-raiser

From press release

Rich Whitney, Green Party candidate for governor, will be in Rockford for a wine and cheese fund-raiser at 7 p.m., Friday, May 21, at 1117 Parkview (across from the Sinnissippi Golf Course). He will be available for breakfast at the Stockholm Inn at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 22. The public is invited.

Whitney calls for the development of clean and efficient public transportation, including inter-city rapid transit, intra-city light rail, rail/bus hybrids, and the expansion of bicycle trails and lanes. He doesn’t just walk the talk, he rides the trails and rails. During his Sustainable Transportation Tour, he’ll travel by bike and train from his home in Carbondale to Chicago to Woodstock to Rockford and Elgin before swinging back to Carbondale via Joliet, Springfield, and Centralia among other stops.
