Health information now available at your fingertips at Choices Natural Market
From press release
Choices Natural Market, Rockford’s natural food store, is excited to announce the addition of “Oscar,” our new Fresh Ideas Center, an exciting new interactive tool that offers health tips and recipes to customers seeking information about living a healthier lifestyle.
The health kiosk program gives recommendations on using vitamins and supplements for specific health ailments and even lists potential drug interactions between medications and herbal supplements. You can get information on specific health conditions, living a healthy lifestyle, recipes, gluten-free diets, and more, with the new interactive, touch-screen program. You can search for recipes by ingredient or by type, which includes; diabetic-friendly, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, low sodium, budget-friendly, time-saving, and more. All of the information is now available at your fingertips right inside the store.
“It is an exciting new tool and easy for our customers to use themselves,” said Karen King, co-owner of Choices Natural Market. “I have used it many times for myself. I love it!!! When we get a new produce item in that I have never used before, I can just go over to the kiosk and instantly get a recipe for dinner. I am able to print it out along with a shopping list, and my dinner is planned within minutes. It tells me how long it takes to prepare, and even gives calorie information and a nutritional breakdown. It also gives recommended side dishes and wine pairings. I have also used it to help many customers with various health conditions.”
Recent estimates show that 15-25 percent of the U.S population is actively seeking a gluten-free diet. The new program includes a Gluten-Free Center. This center is a one-stop product guide that informs shoppers on foods to try and foods to avoid, and includes sample shopping lists and an engaging recipe index with more than160 mouth-watering gluten-free recipes.
“We look forward to providing our customers and staff with a convenient way of finding relevant information that provides information on supplements and health, as well as meal ideas, recipes and shopping lists to make shopping at Choices Natural Market easy, fun and healthy,” said Karen.
