Celebrate June with a COLE tune!

From press release

Join Carl and Dianna Cole of Sounds Of Good News (SOGN) Productions as they celebrate the month of June as “Black Music Month” as declared by President Jimmy Carter June 7, 1979. Interestingly, SOGN was founded in November of that same year. The beauty of this ethnic season (which includes holidays like Flag Day, “Juneteenth,” Father’s Day and the first day of summer) is that it allows the community to embrace the “Power of Unity” through the universal language of music, enjoyed by people of all cultures through genres like spirituals, blues, gospel, jazz, patriotic, soul and the like–seasoned with the “color” of African-American heritage!

It’s a celebration of American music history. Of course, you can get it all from SOGN “COLE”-lections at SwedishAmerican’s “Jenny’s” Gift Shop (both locations) or by visiting www.soundsofgoodnews.com. Donations and CD proceeds will benefit their “Young Eagles Success” (YES) Club Vision of Character Development and Excellence for Kids. 501(c)(3) charitable contributions can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church (of which SOGN is a collaborative partner for community outreach and neighborhood projects such as “CHURCH 4-U” on second Sundays at 2:30 p.m. and Dianna’s Women’s Workshops & Fellowship Retreats on the first Fridays of the month at St. Paul’s Northwest Site. Visit her “Wisdom And You” Enterprises Web site at www.WAY4U.net).

Summer YES Kids projects will include projects with several Rockford Park District sites as well as the Northern Illinois Girl Scouts. Be sure to watch their regular Real Eyes TV show on the Comcast local channel 17 at 5 p.m., Wednesdays and other select days and times throughout the month. Let’s have a “COLE”-lossal celebration of summer with a “COLE” glass of SOGN! For more information, call Dianna at (815) 519-7071 or e-mail MsCSOGN@aol.com.
