Summer art classes for adults at Freeport Art Museum

FREEPORT, Ill.—The Freeport Art Museum is offering adult art classes in Beginning Oil and Watercolor Painting this summer. The oil painting class begins June 3 and will meet every Thursday for six weeks from 5-8 p.m. in the Freeport Art Museum education classroom. The cost for this class series is $90/members and $100/non-members with a special student rate of $70/member and $80/non-member (with student ID, student must be at least 16). This is only $15/class for professional artist instruction. The instructor will be Janet Checker of the Galena Artist Guild; discover different techniques, terms and skills that will help you create your own oil painting. This class is also being offered as CPDU credit for educators.
The Watercolor Painting class will be offered Aug. 17 to Sept. 2, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost for this class series is $60/members and $90/non-members with a special student rate of $40/members and $70/non-members. Students will start with learning basic composition skills and also gain the knowledge to matte and frame their own work. The instructor for these classes is Roger Goodspeed of the Momentum Art Guild in Freeport. This class will also be offered as CPDU class for educators. Watercolor classes are always a popular choice for a summer art class; only 12 spots are available, so sign up early!
