Keith Country Day School, an independent, nonsectarian, college-preparatory school, amassed $4.4 million in college scholarships between the 31 graduates of its 2010 school year. The class of 2010’s impressive total marks the ninth consecutive year a Keith graduating class (of fewer than 35), totaled more than $1 million in scholarships. It also marks the seventh consecutive year 70 percent or more of the graduating class earned at least one scholarship each. Some of the colleges the graduating class will be attending in the fall include Brown University, Northwestern University, the University of Michigan, the University of Notre Dame, Drake University and the University of Pennsylvania, to name a few. … After a year of retirement, community volunteer The Undertaker” recently announced he is returning to the Rockford Park District with a new focus on providing outreach entertainment programs to families and neighborhoods. Over the past 25 years, “The Undertaker” has partnered with the Rockford Park District in providing numerous recreational opportunities for children, youth and their families. His main purpose is to give back to the community and afford opportunities to those less fortunate. Over the years, he has garnered support from numerous motorcycle organizations, local politicians, individual sponsors and many area businesses. The nickname “The Undertaker” came about because as a humanitarian, he was known to undertake things no one else would. … Ringland-Johnson Construction employees Brent Johnson, president; Rich Hartman, senior vice president of operations; Dave Dalrymple, project superintendent; and Greg Rewerts, AIA, managing architect, recently earned Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Green Associate designation in New Construction and Major Renovation. LEED professional accreditation distinguishes building professionals who have demonstrated knowledge of the “green” construction techniques and processes. Ringland-Johnson Construction has assisted commercial, industrial and government clients in Illinois and surrounding states with construction, design-build, construction management and real estate development services for more than 60 years.
