Rockford man arrested and charged with intent to deliver heroin

Members of the Rockford Police Department’s Narcotics Unit have been investigating the sale of illegal narcotics, which had been reported to be taking place in the area of 4700 Orchard Ave. and the surrounding area.
The complaints stated the suspect was driving around and selling drugs from his vehicle.
After a lengthy investigation, detectives from the Rockford Narcotics Unit went to 4703 Orchard Ave. A search was conducted that yielded cannabis, heroin that was packaged for individual sale and United States currency. Other items associated with drug sales were also located and recovered.
An adult male and female were located at the residence. The male, who was identified as Kevin Kilgore, was arrested and later lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. The female was released and not charged.
Kilgore, 24, is charged with intent to deliver 1-15 grams of heroin within 1,000 feet of Rockford Housing Authority property. Bond has yet to be set by the judge.
Kilgore is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
