Carpenter’s Place celebrates 10 years
From press release
Carpenter’s Place will celebrate 10 years of rebuilding the lives of homeless adults in Rockford with a dinner beginning at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 10, at Radisson Hotel & Conference Center. Emcee will be Mike Robinson, director of marketing/communications for OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. (Cost was $35 and RSVPs were due June 4.)
Carpenter’s Place opened in June 2000. A flier for the anniversary event states: “Through the blessings of God and amazing support from individuals, agencies, churches, businesses, clubs and organizations, thousands of lives have been changed for the better during the past 10 years! That’s a reason to celebrate and give thanks!”
Last year, through Carpenter’s Place’s case management, 321 homeless adults secured housing and 114 obtained employment—81 full-time.
Carpenter’s Place’s mission reads: “Carpenter’s Place provides the tools necessary for rebuilding lives of the homeless. Inspired by Christ’s compassion, Carpenter’s Place offers direction with accountability to people with broken lives, helping them find peace with God, themselves and their communities.”
Carpenter’s Place is at 1149 Railroad Ave., Rockford. For more information about the organization and ways to contribute or volunteer time, call (815) 964-4105, e-mail email@example.com or visit carpentersplace.org.
