Cheap Trick kicks off ‘Sgt. Pepper Live’ Friday in Las Vegas
By Jim Hagerty
Rock band Cheap Trick will resume its run performing The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band Friday, June 11 in Las Vegas.
The band, minus drummer Bun E. Carlos, will perform the album in its entirety. The show is the first of a 20-date run.
Cheap Trick performed the famed Beatles album for nine shows at the Las Vegas Hilton last fall to celebrate the record’s 43rd anniversary.
Daxx Nielsen, son of guitarist Rick Nielsen, is currently filling in for Bun E. Carlos on drums. Carlos announced this spring he was taking a break from the road, but still remains a member of the band.
According to reports, 20 Cheap Trick “Sgt. Pepper’s” shows have been confirmed, however, more than 40 are expected at Paris Las Vegas this year.
More information about Cheap Trick can be found on the band’s Web site.
