Rockford man arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, cocaine

Detectives from the Rockford Police Department’s Narcotics Unit have been investigating the sale of illegal narcotics that had been reported to be taking place at 4878 Creekview Road, No. 2.
As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to obtain a search warrant. The Narcotics Unit executed the search warrant June 10. One adult male and a 1-year-old child were located inside the apartment.
During a search of the apartment, detectives located suspected crack cocaine, heroin and a loaded handgun. United States currency and other items associated with drug trafficking were located and recovered.
The adult, who was identified as Victor Jones, was transported to Winnebago County Jail, where he was lodged.
Jones, 32, of Rockford, was charged with possession with intent to deliver 1-15 grams of heroin within 1,000 feet of Rockford Housing Authority (RHA) property, possession with intent to deliver cocaine less than 1 gram within 1,000 feet of RHA property, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, and endangering the life of a child.
Bond has yet to be set by a judge and Jones is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
