From press release

OREGON, Ill.—Many artists use a canvas for their work that gets hung on a wall. But the Visiting Artists who attend the 12th annual Fields Project will also be using fields as their canvas. And the only way to view their work is to fly over it!

Professional pilots will fly from the Ogle County Airport over the canvas acreage again this year, allowing the public to view the work of four field artists. The artist from New Jersey is using cornrowed hair as her inspiration. Another is focusing on a design that came to her in a dream. To make reservations to see these works of art Saturday and Sunday, June 26-27, call (815) 732-3324.

Artists whose work can be seen on the ground will also be in attendance, using the area fields and farms as inspiration for their canvas and 3-D work created while in the nine-day program. Find out from the artists themselves how they take their ideas and put them into a format that can be enjoyed by all, when Fields Project Visiting Artists will be featured at the Show and Tell being held at the United Methodist Church of Oregon, 200 S. Fourth St., at 6:30 p.m., Monday, June 21. The event is free to the public. Refreshments will be served.

In addition to the artwork seen from the air, the Fine Arts and Crafts Festival Sunday, June 27, will give everyone an opportunity to see the inspirational results of area painters, photographers, jewelry makers, sculptors, basket weavers and more. The festival is being held at Mix Park along Rt. 2 in Oregon, Ill., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event is also free and open to the public. There will be food and entertainment.
