Jim Gill performs at Discovery Center July 9

Rockford native and professional singer/songwriter/author Jim Gill will perform his all-ages, interactive show at Discovery Center Museum, 711 N. Main St., from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday, July 9.

Rockford native and professional singer/songwriter/author Jim Gill will perform his all-ages, interactive show at Discovery Center Museum, 711 N. Main St., from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday, July 9.

Enjoy a concert with Gill as he bangs out lively rhythms on his banjo while you clap, jump, dance and sing along to his award-winning songs. Before or after Gill’s show, take in some sound science and silly art projects. Live shows will be at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.

Discovery Center Museum

Discovery Center Museum is a non-profit children’s science museum with more than 200 hands-on exhibits, planetarium, special area for children 6 and younger, and an award0winning outdoor Science Park.

The museum is ranked the No. 4 children’s museum in the nation by Child magazine and is inside Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St., Rockford.

General admission to the museum is $7 adults, $7 children (ages 2-17) and free to children younger than 2 and museum members.

Hours of operation are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Saturday; noon-5 p.m., Sundays; and until 7 p.m. on Thursdays from July 1 through August.
