Ironically, Jan Schakowsky is one of the reasons why our nation is in such a fiscal mess. The National Taxpayers Union added up the dollar value of all the bills that she co-sponsored in 2009 and discovered that she is the biggest spender in Congress! She endorsed 155 bills to increase spending while only 10 that would reduce spending, resulting in a net increase in federal spending of $1.49 trillion -- all at the same time our nation is experiencing monstrous budget deficits. She received a grade of 16.1% (F) from NTU for her votes throughout her career on fiscal issues. Citizens Against Government Waste gave her a lifetime grade of 7% for her votes. So, there is another side to this story.
