Tipi gathering at Oregon Trail Days

July 21, 2010

A group of individually decorated tipis were on display and available for purchase at Oregon Trail Days the weekend of July 16-18 in Oregon, Ill. All tipis were on the festival grounds at Lowden State Park. The 40 tipis represented the largest gathering of tipis since pioneer days. The tipis could be rented for $79 per night. The event was a great success. Photo by Frank Schier

I would like to have a TiPi festival at our campground in July. We have room for 30+ TiPi’s and we are on prime Takilma Indian grounds. The Park is on the Wimer Trail witch was the main trail connecting Crescent City to Jacksonville Oregon in the early 1800′s. Tons of history here!!!

Any suggestions on how to organize such an event?

    Thank you,
