Associate director of Church World Service discusses CROP Hunger Walk July 27

From press release

Learn how the CROP Hunger Walk helps people in Haiti and around the world. Julia Jones, associate director of Church World Service, the recipient of Hunger Walk funds, will update the community about how you can help people in need.

The program is free and open to the public, Tuesday, July 27, beginning at 7 p.m., at Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St., Rockford, downstairs next to Discovery Center.

People are also invited to pick up materials for the Rockford CROP Hunger Walk.

This is your opportunity to learn all about this year’s Rockford Area CROP Hunger Walk, which is Sunday, Oct. 17, and how the funds are used to help relieve local and world hunger.

Participants will learn of hunger needs in Rockford and the world, as well as receive materials to recruit walkers and solicit sponsors.

This year’s walk is dedicated to Edie Applegate, well-known nutritionist and long-time member of the CROP Hunger Walk Committee. She set up and managed the last four CROP Walks. She died this last spring.
