Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity (RAHFH) will be accepting applications at a seminar Aug. 14 for potential home buyers. The homes will be built during the summer of 2011.

To be considered for the homeownership program, an applicant must prove a total household income between 25-60 percent of the county median income, along with meeting credit score and debt-to-income ratio requirements. The home buyers must complete at least 300 hours of sweat equity labor in the construction of the home.

Upon completion, homes will be sold at-cost. RAHFH offers a zero-interest loan to families. Mortgage payments range from $475-$525 per month.

Details about the seminar and required documentation for consideration can be found under “Family Selection Criteria” at rockfordhabitat.org or by calling the office at (815) 636-4573.

RAHFH is a non-profit, ecumenical, Christian housing organization that builds simple, decent and affordable homes with low-income families through partnerships with the community. RAHFH has been serving Winnebago County since 1988, and has built 84 homes in partnership with families in need. For more information, visit rockfordhabitat.org.
