YWCA to offer Microsoft courses in Word and Excel

From press release

The YWCA will again offer job readiness computer skills training in Microsoft Word and Excel. These classes have been scheduled to meet the needs of those looking to take classes during the day.

Microsoft Excel begins Thursday, Aug. 12, and Microsoft Word begins Tuesday, Aug. 17. Both classes run for 10 weeks. All classes are 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Each course is reasonably priced at only $50, and everyone who completes the course’s 10-week session will receive $25 of their fee back. Registration is required.

The training will take place at the YWCA of Rockford, 4990 E. State St., in the Puri Family Computer Lab. The state-of-the-art computer lab is equipped with 20 individual stations.

The computer lab is available for public use Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 12:30 through 4:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:30 to 8 p.m. The lab is also available for rental, providing a classroom setting for businesses and organizations that lack computer lab space but wish to offer group training on industry-specific software for their employees.

To register for classes or for more information, call Danita at (815) 316-6122 or e-mail Danita at danita.lewis@ywca-rockford.org.
