Dog Wash Aug. 21 in parking lot at Rockford Career College

The Veterinary Technicians’ Club of Rockford Career College will host their first “Dog Wash” from noon to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 21, at the college’s parking lot, 1130 S. Alpine Road, Rockford.

Cost is $15 for a small dog (15 pounds and lighter); $17 for a medium dog (16-40 pounds); and $20 for a large dog (41 pounds and heavier). Nail trims are also available.

The Dog Wash is a benefit to raise funds to be used for the Vet Tech Club’s Spay/Neuter Day for locally rescued pets. The college works with many of the local rescues by providing services such as vaccines, heartworm checks, blood work, dentals, etc.

In addition, there will be a bake sale and a silent auction to raise funds.

A number of vendors within the pet field, as well as staff from local rescue organizations, will be attending.
