Aug. 29 breakfast benefits Beloit Regional Hospice

AFTON, Wis.—For many years as owner of Hanson’s Tavern, Larry Hopper and his wife Belinda had sponsored a benefit breakfast for Beloit Regional Hospice. After a short break, they were sure it was time to revive the event, and in stepped friend Skip Hoffman and a host of volunteers and staff.
In 2009, on a spectacular summer day, the crew served more than 300 breakfasts, sold raffle tickets, gave away prizes and the audience enjoyed music first from Karl Bell and then from the Bass Creek Boys. It was a day to remember.
This year, Larry and Skip will host the breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 29, at Skip’s Friendly Village in Afton, Wis.
The aroma of steak, eggs, cheesy potatoes and toast will take over the grounds as friends of Beloit Regional Hospice, Hopper and Hoffman will be treated again to music by Karl Bell and then the Bass Creek Boys and have the chance to buy raffle tickets.
Cost is $8 for steak, eggs, potatoes and toast, and $4 without steak. Water and coffee are included; milk and juice can be purchased for $1 a glass.
Mary Deem, executive director of Beloit Regional Hospice, said: “This kind of community support and endorsement of the services we provide not only financially supports our team, but also provides great moral support in the form of public recognition of the benefit of Beloit Regional Hospice services. We are so grateful for these generous individuals.”
Beloit Regional Hospice staff and volunteers are leaders in quality and compassion who seek to serve all who want and need their care.
