Dance Company offers ballet program for Hispanic children
From press release
Rockford Dance Company (RDC) has scholarships available for beginning ballet class for Hispanic children between the ages of 6 and 12.
Thirty-one classes will be held within RDC’s regular school programming starting Sept. 10, and will run through May 13. Participants will perform in the school performance May 14.
RDC will accept 40 children into the program. Applications and program requirements are available in RDC’s office at Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St., or on rockforddancecompany.com on the school page. Applications need to be returned to RDC’s office by 5 p.m., Aug. 12, or have a postmark no later than Aug. 12.
RDC and SupplyCore, Inc., are sponsoring this program to introduce children to the benefits of ballet. Ballet is a well-structured dance form that includes discipline, self-awareness and the building of self-esteem through individual accomplishment. This free program is set up to serve those who are financially disadvantaged.
