Meg’s Daily Grind Golf Play Day benefits Huntington’s disease

Meg’s Daily Grind is hosting its annual Golf Play Day Friday, Sept. 10, at Swan Hills Golf Course. Meg’s is teaming up with Raymond James and the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford to benefit Huntington’s disease.

The event will begin with a shot gun start at Swan Hills, 2600 Gustafson Road, in Belvidere, Ill. Dinner will be served immediately following golf. Contact Meg at (815) 978-1363 to register to play or to sponsor a hole.

Huntington’s disease is a degenerative brain disorder that slowly diminishes the ability to walk, talk and reason. It is a hereditary disease that has no effective treatment or cure.

The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford is at 1601 Parkview Ave., and has served the area since 1971 as a regional academic health science center.

The college operates health clinics in Rockford, Rockton, Belvidere and Mt. Morris.

Meg’s Daily Grind is a family owned and operated coffee shop serving gourmet coffee, espresso, pastries, light lunches, desserts, cold drinks including fruit smoothies and blended ice coffees and teas and chai tea. Chris and Jodi Erickson, along with their daughters Megan and Leslie, co-own Meg’s Daily Grind.
