Christ the Rock Lutheran Church to offer free voter registration

Free voter registration will be held at Christ the Rock Lutheran Church, 8330 Newburg Road (at Mill and Newburg roads), Rockford, on the following dates:

Patriots’ Day—Saturday, Sept. 11;

Constitution Day—Friday, Sept. 17; and

International Day of Peace—Tuesday, Sept. 21.

All registration times will take place between 4 and 6 p.m.

If interested individuals cannot make the above dates, they can find voter registration information in the Christ the Rock offices, at the same address where the registration dates will occur, during regular office hours, Call (815) 332-7191 to determine hours.

“Registering to vote is the first step in engaging in civic life and becoming a good steward of one’s God-given responsibility of self-government,” explained the Rev. David Meggers, pastor of the church.

Any Illinois citizen who will be 18 by Election Day, Nov. 2, is eligible to register. Note that Oct. 5 is the last day to register to vote for the upcoming Nov. 2 general election.
