Grandparents’ Day Sept. 12 at Discovery Center Museum

Rustle up those grandkids and head down to Discovery Center for an afternoon of fun from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12. Grandparents receive half off admission Sept. 12 as well as $5 off a Grandparent membership. Door prizes, a scavenger hunt and special crafts in the Art Studio will also be featured.

Grandparents’ Day is included with museum admission: $7 adults; $7 children; free to children younger than 2 and museum members.

Discovery Center Museum is a non-profit children’s science museum with more than 200 hands-on exhibits, planetarium, special area for children 6 and younger, and an award-winning outdoor Science Park.

The museum is ranked the No. 4 children’s museum in the nation by Child magazine.

Discovery Center is inside Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St., Rockford.

Hours of operation are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Saturday; and noon-5 p.m., Sundays.
