Second City Chorus presents ‘Saturday Night Jive’ Sept. 11
From press release
BELVIDERE, Ill.—Second City Chorus, the Rockford-Belvidere premiere barbershop chorus, will present its annual show titled “Saturday Night Jive—Second City Style” at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 11, at the Community Building Complex of Boone County, 111 W. First St., Belvidere, Ill.
Featured on this year’s show will be the Second City Chorus, one of the state’s top 10 barbershop choruses, tsunami and Second Opinion quartets, both top five quartets in the state, and back by popular demand will be the Miller’s Hometown Band.
Chorus President Greg Martin said: “Our show includes great barbershop music from Second City Chorus and our two fine quartets, and also brings to the stage the wonderful and entertaining Miller’s Hometown Band, playing a wide variety of music including country-western, oldies and rock and roll. The dance floor becomes the popular place to be when the Hometown Band begins to play.”
Second City Chorus, along with the Hometown Band, will finish their portion of the show with a patriotic tribute to the memory of 9/11. For those who love to dance, the Hometown Band will entertain everyone for an additional two hours.
The event is set up as a cabaret-style show, with hors d’oeuvres, light refreshments, a dessert buffet and cash bar. Reserved table seating tickets are available for $20. For tickets, call Doug Phillips at (815) 494-0112 or Greg Martin at (815) 639-9692. Tickets will also be available at the door.
