‘Have Your Cake & Eat It Too!’ Sept. 15 at Clock Tower

Rosie’s Birthday Club will host their first “fun-raiser”—“Have Your Cake & Eat It Too!”—from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the Clock Tower Resort & Conference Center, 7801 E. State St., Rockford.

The evening will include local celebrities partnering with bakers to decorate spectacular and scrumptious child-themed cakes, a cake contest, live auction of the completed cakes, a raffle for some great prizes and a light dinner buffet. Special guest cake decorating celebrities include: Steve Summers and Shannon Zimmerman, Q98; Cyndi Kahlbaum, WREX weather; Nicole Kilmer, former anchor of WTVO; Joe Bruscato, Illinois State’s Attorney; Mark Bankord, Heartland Church; Georgette Braun, Rockford Register Star; Dr. Bill Gorski, CEO SwedishAmerican Hospital; Ann O’Keefe, Rockford Arts Council; Chip Stoner, president/CEO of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Rockford; and Gloria Cardenas, Rockford Park District.

Local bakers providing cakes are: Sweet Ambrosia, Patricia’s Patisserie, Confectionarium, sugarjones, Pastry Girls, Inc., The Cake Chick, By the Dozen, Costa Confections and CAKED.

Cake Contest Judges are real court judges: Kathryn E. Zenoff, Rosemary Collins and Janet Holmgren.

Also featured at the event will be a special bake-off guest appearance from “Hammy Hog,” the IceHog’s mascot, and “Rassy,” the mascot from Rasmussen College.
