From press release
Candidates for all county and state positions, who have opponents, are invited to participate in a Candidates’ Forum at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 21, at First Presbyterian Church, 406 N. Main St., in Rockford.
The forum provides a neutral, informational setting for church and community members to see and hear about issues and candidates appearing on the upcoming November election ballot. You are welcome to meet with the candidates individually and listen to the program.
Tables will be provided for campaign literature. Refreshments will be served. Candidates not facing opposition are also invited to attend, visit with constituents, and bring campaign literature.
Susan Stephens, news director, WNIJ, will serve as the moderator. The forum is expected to last approximately two hours.
The church is accessible for those with special needs. Parking is in the lot to the north of the church and can be entered from North Main or North Church Street. Everyone should use the North Main Street door south of the parking lot.
The forum is co-sponsored by Rockford Area Lutheran Ministries, Rockford Urban Ministries, and the League of Women Voters of Greater Rockford. Past forums hosted by these organizations have been very well attended. For more information, call (815) 964-7111.
