Cold Stone Creamery locations to offer free ice cream to help make wishes come true
From press release
During September, Cold Stone Creamery locations will host a month-long fund-raising celebration to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois. Cold Stone Creamery is at 653 S. Perryville Road, Rockford, and can be reached at (815) 227-5227.
Cold Stone Creamery stores will work together raising funds to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions throughout Illinois.
Cold Stone Creamery has partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation since 2002, generating $3.2 million in donations.
Eleven-year-old wish kid Kate teamed up with Cold Stone Creamery’s Tastemaster Ray Karam to create her own ice cream Creation to celebrate the alliance this year. Kate was named “Junior Tastemaster” as she created her special Creation with caramel-apple ice cream mixed with extra apples, graham crackers and chocolate flakes.
Throughout the month, every Cold Stone store will sell paper Wish Stars for $1 each. The celebration will reach its peak with the ninth “World’s Largest Ice Cream Social.” Sept. 30, Cold Stone locations will give away a 3-ounce portion of “Kate’s Creation” from 5-8 p.m. in exchange for a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich their lives with hope, strength and joy. Since 1985, the foundation has granted more than 9,000 wishes and continues its mission to share the power of a wish with special children across Illinois.
