Volunteer to be a ‘patient’ at U of I College of Medicine’s Clinical Skills Center—open house Sept. 24
From press release
The University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford Health Sciences Campus will host a Clinical Skills Center Open House from 2 to 4 p.m., Friday, Sept. 24.
The event is held to recruit patients (actors) to the Standardized Patient (SP) program at the College of Medicine. The program utilizes individuals specially trained by health professionals to simulate patients in a variety of scenarios encountered in medical practice.
SPs are instructed in how to assess student performance, which helps to ensure students have the opportunity to learn and be evaluated in a standardized way.
They can provide valuable feedback about students’ communication, physical exam and medical decision-making skills to both students and faculty. SP activities are built into the M2 and M4 curriculum.
Attendees will enjoy a tour, information and refreshments.
RSVP to email@example.com.
