Lockwood Park hosts Pumpkin Patch Day Oct. 11

Lockwood Park, 5201 Safford Road, Rockford, will host its annual Pumpkin Patch Day, Monday, Oct. 11 (Columbus Day) from 10 am.-4 p.m. A variety of free and ticketed activities for all ages will be available at the event.
Among the many free activities: Ag Education craft (while supplies last), visits to the Children’s Farm, “Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin,” and music provided by The Undertaker. Admission to Pumpkin Patch Day is free.
Fees will be charged for tickets for some activities including: six inflatables, rock climbing wall, games and crafts, corn launch, “Great Pumpkin Hunt” (while supplies last), pumpkin painting, tractor-drawn hayrides, pony ring, corn maze, face painting all day and by Pickles the Clown from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., photo remembrances and vendors. Pumpkins, gourds and Indian corn will be available for purchase while supplies last. Other features of the event include Native American Indian guests, a book signing by Sheila Kay Walsh, the Trailside Souvenir Shop, and food concessions.
The mission of Lockwood Park is to help people enjoy life through their connection to animals. The park programs provide a variety of experiences and learning opportunities to promote healthy, positive interactions between people and animals. Lockwood Park offers 94 miles of scenic trails for hiking, biking or horseback riding and is located at 5201 Safford Road between Searls and Page parks in northwest Rockford.
