Senatorial candidates to speak Oct. 12

Neighborhood organizations and citizens throughout the City of Rockford are invited to attend a presentation of ideas from two campaign rivals: Sen. Dave Syverson (R) incumbent, and Ms. Marla Wilson (D), his challenger for the Illinois State Senate seat from District 34. The election takes place Nov. 2.
Sponsored by the Alpine Ridge Neighborhood Association, this sharing of ideas will occur from 7-8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12 in the social hall of First Covenant Church, 316 Wood Road in Rockford.
Only these two candidates will speak, each for 30 minutes. There will not be a debate. Questions will be limited to the moderator.
All participants will be encouraged to focus only on what they see as for themselves, as senator, to accomplish during the next term of office to address issues such as: the legislature’s failure to act in managing State affairs; pension reform; state fiscal insolvency; medical insurance sales.
