Hair stylists record CD to benefit local nonprofit

LOVES PARK, Ill.—A group of Rockford-based hair stylists are doing much more than just singing into their hair brushes—they’re singing in a studio, recording a professional Christmas CD with proceeds benefitting Rockford nonprofit, LYDIA Home.
“I sing in a jazz band on the weekends, so thought I could use those skills to record a holiday CD and benefit LYDIA Home,” said Clare Schwartz, owner of High Maintenance and The Maintenance Man salons. “What I didn’t realize is what great singing talent I work with every day at the salon—it’s amazing. Maybe we should include a serenade with all of our haircuts!”
The “Singing Stylists CD” is available for pre-sale now for $15 at both of the Maintenance salons inside Peak Fitness in Loves Park off North Perryville Road. The collection of holiday songs features several stylists singing traditional Christmas tunes with a twist of new lyrics focused on the fashion, beauty and wellness industries.
LYDIA Home Association is a Christian organization that has been serving children and families since 1916.
