Singles Fall Dance Oct. 16 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church

Area singles are invited to a Singles Fall Dance from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 16, in the Shepherd’s Gate building of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 3300 Rural St., Rockford. Music will be provided by popular local band the Missing Links.

Dance tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Advance tickets can be purchased from Singles Together Across Rockford (STAR) members; at Our Savior’s during regular office hours; at the Rockford Area Lutheran Ministries office, 115 N. Wyman St., Rockford; at The Postal Shoppe in Rockford, 1643 N. Alpine Road in the Edgebrook Centre; or by phoning (815) 962-4279.

A special feature of the evening will be a series of dance contests to be held at 10 minutes past the hour throughout the evening: the twist at 8:10, waltz at 9:10, swing at 10:10, and the polka at 11:10 p.m. Fun prizes will be awarded following each dance, and an attendance prize will be given at the end of the night.

These alcohol-free, nonsmoking dances have been presented by STAR for the past 11 years, bringing together hundreds of people from throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.

The entrance to Shepherd’s Gate is on the Corbridge Lane side of the church, one block north of Rural Street. A large, well-lit church parking lot is available between Corbridge Lane and Guilford Road.
