Early voting began Oct. 11 at the Election Office, 301 S. Sixth St., for City of Rockford voters. The only difference to the voter from absentee voting is that now a government-issued photo ID must be shown.
Early voting runs from Oct. 11-28. Times open at the Sixth Street location are: 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday; 9 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Oct. 16; 9 a.m.-noon, Sunday, Oct. 17; 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 23; and 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 24.
Early voting from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. is available at the following locations: Oct. 20 at Heartland Community Church, 1280 S. Alpine Road; Oct. 21 and 22 at Beth-Eden United Methodist Church, 3201 Huffman Blvd.
Voting by mail may still be requested. Call (815) 987-5750. This method is available to all registered voters—no reason needed.

Winnebago County residents who live outside the city limits of Rockford must go to the County Clerk’s Office at 404 Elm St. to vote early.
