‘Boo at the Zoo’ at Belvidere’s Summerfield Zoo Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 23-24

BELVIDERE, Ill.—Summerfield Zoo has announced the first “Boo at the Zoo” Halloween adventure from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.,  Saturday, Oct. 23, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 24.

Tammy Anderson, member of the board of directors at Summerfield Zoo, explained: “We are excited to be starting a new tradition at the zoo. Boo at the Zoo will be a fun, family event for all. We have a lot of special events planned for the weekend including a kids’ costume contest, trick or treating, a headless horseman, a storyteller on Sunday, El Gato the Halloween Dancing Horse, and so much more!”

Admission is $7 per adult and $5 per child, and all proceeds go to the care of all the animals, many of which are rescues.

Enjoy lunch from the Road Kill Grill, purchase a pumpkin, see animal presentations, and shop the gift shop.

Summerfield Zoo is a not-for-profit organization providing an up-close and personal animal experience for the whole family. As a small zoo, visitors can get up close and meet many of the animals.
