Rockford police in search of information regarding Nov. 4 homicide

At 8:15 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 4, Rockford police officers responded to 3809 Sage Drive, Apartment A, regarding a person lying outside the building possibly shot. Upon arrival, officers located Ladarrick Torry, 37, unresponsive and bleeding from the chest area. Rockford Fire arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim dead.
Rockford police officers and detectives conducting a homicide investigation learned a black male suspect broke into 3809 Sage Drive, Apartment A, while Torry and another individual were inside. Both fled by breaking out a south-side window when a gun shot was heard inside the apartment, and Torry was found outside the south window. The other victim was later located and taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.
An autopsy is being performed by the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office today (Friday, Nov. 5) to determine the cause of death.
The suspect is described as a black male, unknown age, 5 feet 9 inches, wearing a white mask.
