We as a nation are spending $1.98 million dollars a minute on the machine of war. The bill to take care of our current veterans is estimated to be $50 billion dollars per year.

I do not believe the words of Colin Powell have much value in any discussion since he was a conspirator in the lies leading up to the war. He like John McCain have tarnished their records with their obvious lies regarding the war.

A better question, Campbell, is "When will YOU ever learn?"

To loosely quote Colin Powell, the United States never asked for more territory than what it took to bury our dead in all the wars of the last century. The wars we fought were either forced upon us, or they were fought to try to prevent another Hitler or Stalin from emerging.

This world is filled with despots and fanatics. When you were in Iran, did you ask those religious looney-tunes if they had reflected on the past before embarking on their campaign of religious facism? Did they reflect upon the millions dead from wars past before embarking on a needless nuclear weapons program? What words of wisdom did you have for them to prevent the coming nuclear war between Iran and Israel?

You like to think you have all the answers. In reality, you have no answers. All you have is criticism for the actions of others.

Wars are the result of the sins of man. Sins we have known about for two thousand years; pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed, and sloth. Maybe add in religious fanaticism. Get rid of man's sins and you get rid of war.

In other words, war will end when there is no one left to fight them. Until then, there are people like me who would rather fight and die then become a slave, and people like you who can't wait to be enslaved by some perverted culture.
