Interesting perspectives Reggie...you know how to get a hold of me...door is always open. The one thing you should understand though is that is truly a grass roots movement unlike anything else. We don't collect dues or membership fees and even at the online donation site in two years there has been about 300 dollars donated. We have not looked to become a PAC or Lobbying Organization. We struggle with the sort of ideas you mention and yes they have all been pitched. The dilemma comes when officially becoming a full time paid organization which would take us out of the business of grass roots and then the time involved to cover the vast array of issue would be a full time staff function which is financially impossible. We are willing to have you come to one of our volunteer leaders executive meetings and discuss issues with us. Let us know if you would like to attend and perhaps you can get a better view of what the Tea Party is really doing. As for Illinois Tea there is a Statewide organization that I would encourage you to contact about your suggestions.
