Byron Museum of History to sponsor Festival of Trees

From press release

The Byron Museum of History, in conjunction with the Byron Chamber of Commerce’s Miracle on Second Street, will be sponsoring the Festival of Trees again this year. Your help is needed to make this event a success! This is a great way to advertise your business to locals. For those who are new to the Festival of Trees, the Byron Museum of History invites businesses, civic organizations, churches, and other groups to bring in artificial trees and decorate them with adornments of their choice. Every year, between 700 and 1,000 people visit the museum during the festival. You can also get your picture taken with Frosty the Snowman from 6-9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 19.

Select a theme for your tree. It can be as simple or fancy as you desire. The Festival of Trees will be set up Friday, Nov. 12 through Nov. 16 and will remain on display through Dec. 22 (though groups are welcome to remove their trees sooner if they wish). Tree categories are Non-Traditional, Traditional and Handmade. Please–no edible decorations.

The Museum will produce a booklet highlighting all this year’s participants. These booklets will be available to guests as they visit the Museum. This is a great way to share information about your organization, advertise an upcoming event, or promote your business. Visitors to the website will also see a slide show featuring pictures of your tree, as well as whatever information you would like to present about your organization.

Registration fee is $5. For a registration form, send to: Byron Museum of History, P.O. Box 186, Byron, IL 61010-0186 by Nov. 10, 2010. If you have any questions, call (815) 234-5031.
