Man charged with residential burglary

Shortly after noon, Wednesday, Nov. 17, neighbors reported a burglary in progress in the 1200 block of Harding Street in Rockford. A white male had been spotted breaking into a house, and was last seen fleeing on foot in the back yard.

Multiple units from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department and the Rockford Police Department responded and apprehended Bobby D. Hare 35.

Hare has been charged with residential burglary and is being held in the Winnebago County Jail.

A black Jeep Cherokee, believed to have been involved in the crime, was recovered.

Hare is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

The investigation of this case and multiple other recent residential burglaries continues by both the Sheriff’s Department and the Rockford Police Department.
