How about changing the signs on East State Street, heading east near Rockford College-traffic here (in three lanes) drives 30 in the left lane when the signs say 45. Or how about the signs on North Second Street north of Machesney Park Mall, where traffic drives 45 in a 55 zone? Or south of the mall where traffic drives 40 in a 45 zone? Or maybe even in both directions of IL-173 between Alpine and Rock Cut State Park where traffic drives 30-35 in a zone marked 45-55 miles per hour? Better yet, how about getting the slower traffic out of the left lanes, or maybe even driving forward when the stoplight at East State and Alpine Road turns green? Maybe the cops should be out there giving tickets for driving too slow for conditions?
