Mill Foundation grant applications due Jan. 2, 2011

Another grant cycle has begun for The Mill Foundation, a local not-for-profit organization that provides funding to those programs and organizations that benefit the Rockford region’s disadvantaged youth. The Mill Foundation is accepting applications from local non-profit organizations from now until Jan. 2, 2011.
To qualify for grants, organizations must meet the following requirements:
→ Be compatible with the Mill Foundation mission statement, which follows:
“The Mill Foundation seeks to help abused, neglected and at-risk youth and their families to develop and establish appropriate values, healthy relationships, behaviors and life skills that will lead to responsible and productive lives.”
→ Be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, not-for-profit organization.
→ Service an area within the greater Rockford area, which includes Boone, Ogle, Stephenson and Winnebago counties.
→ Report on measurable outcomes.
“These grants help local youth gain the skills they will need to lead responsible, productive lives,” said Mill Foundation Chairman Mary Ann Wham. “An investment in the youth of the Rockford area is an investment in the future of the Rockford area.”

Grant applications and eligibility guidelines can be downloaded at TheMillFoundation.org. The deadline to apply is Jan. 2, 2011, with grants awarded in the spring of 2011.
